TRACK RECORD: Salubrious Place, Swansea SA1 1EE
Summary: Major entertainment scheme adjacent to Swansea’s Wind Street leisure strip.
Salubrious Place stands at the gateway to Wind Street, the main leisure area in Swansea city centre.
Work on the project first began in 2004 and the 100,000 sq ft scheme was completed in 2007. It comprises a Vue multiplex (the largest cinema in Swansea), a 116 bedroom Premier Inn hotel and a host of eating and drinking venues including TGI Fridays, Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito grill bar and Nandos. There is also a multi-story car park operated by NCP.
This was an important scheme to deliver for Swansea and the completion in 2007 heralded Wind Street as the finest leisure quarter in South Wales. The Property was sold to Mansford in 2013.
As a high profile landmark and gateway to the city centre, it has also earned itself a place on the Welsh Monopoly board, valued at £220.
